Fast Times

We just released an update that addressed some performance and usability enhancements.  Our server hosting was upgraded and code was optimized to make the interface feel quicker and more responsive.  It's easy to build a fast application if the database is only a few hundred records, but it gets harder for tens of thousands.  With ClientScribe, we've tried to make response times ultra-fast, regardless of database size.

Also, some feedback has come in from some of our customers where ClientScribe has been an integral part in helping transform their business.  Nice stuff that we'll be passing on with some case studies on this Website.

Playing it Safe

A new calendar module was added to the activity screen.  You can now view activities in a monthly layout format.  This update has been out for a while, as we wanted to get some feedback.

We've also posted new certifications for privacy and security.  It's another layer of support for our customers to make sure data is safe and secure.  We didn't skimp on the verification process; we went through the every single guideline, benchmark and requirement.

Pragmatic Permissions

We've added a permissions option for access to customer information.  You can set it as shared, or private.

A sales rep, for example, may want to manage his or her own set of customers, in which case the private option would be used.  A support department on the other hand, would probably have shared customers so they can see any previous action taken by another rep.

Project Management

We just finished posting a new update, Projects.

Projects group activities together into a logical work unit.  For example, a marketing campaign.  Suppose you want to make phone calls and send Emails to your customers and let them know of a new service you are offering.  Create a project called New Product Announcement.  Then, as you add activities to your customers, link them to this project.  At any time, you can click on the project and get a run-down of what’s going on.

Some projects may be exclusive for one customer; A law office that handles multiple cases for a specific client.

Depending on your business, you may find projects helpful.  Give them a try, and if you have any suggestions or need help, let us know.

The More the Merrier

People have been asking why the Personal plan offers one user, and the others jump all the way to unlimited.

No matter what the plan, we're not limiting the number of users who can access ClientScribe; the multi-user plans allow you to see who is doing what.  If you sign up for a Personal plan, you can have many users login simultaneously with the same username, admin.  The multi-user plans give you the option of letting everyone log in with their own username.  When someone creates an activity, their username is logged to that activity.

As an example, user John creates an activity for a telephone conversation he had with the customer ABC Widgets.  Let's say ABC Widgets calls your office a few weeks after, and user Susan picks up the phone.  When she looks up ABC Widgets in ClientScribe, she will see that John spoke to them last, and also what they discussed.
